Your hair should be shoulder length or close to shoulder length. Use hair extensions if needed.
1. Your hair needs to be clean; in other words, free of grease, oil, shampoo, etc. If your hair was washed more than 24 hours ago, you may want to consider washing it.
2. Hop in the shower and wash your hair thoroughly. Shampoo twice (only shampoo three times if your hair's really dirty) and condition once.
Before washing out your conditioner, take a tooth comb and brush out any tangles that you may have.
3. Find a detangling spray and gently spritz some on your hair. Take a tooth comb (preferably not the one you used in the shower) and comb out the tangles gently.
4. Find your blow dryer and plug it in. Dry your hair as straight as possible; start drying your bangs first, if you have any. Be sure to section your hair evenly.
5. Wait 20-30 minutes before flat ironing your hair.
6. Plug in your flat iron and let it heat up for 30-60 seconds. Brush your hair while waiting for it to heat up.
7. Flat iron your hair. Put your hair in sections and remember not to burn yourself. For each section that you finish, apply a very small coat of hairspray.
8. Take a boar brush or some sort of teasing brush and very lightly tease your hair (don't tease your bangs); only do this if you have experience with teasing hair. You can always get someone to do it for you, if you have time. Take a tooth comb (preferably not the one you used in the shower) and sweep your bangs to the right side of your face.
9. Make sure everything looks okay. Apply a very light coat of hairspray to hold it all together if needed.
10. You're done!
